We are keen for our children to advance and succeed from the minute they are born. We want them to grow, put weight on, roll over, sit, walk, talk… We read bedtime stories to encourage an interest in words and books, we count stairs to learn counting and numbers.
Then before you know it they are starting school! My memories of school were sitting in the classroom and copying from a blackboard. Learning is so much more interactive now, so much more about discovery than simply being told that: ‘this is how it is done‘.
Unfortunately there is also so much more pressure now than there was when I was at school. At the age my children are now I would just have to learn my spellings and times tables for a weekly test. When homework comes out of the school bag now, I more often than not find that I have to check the internet to discover what an embedded clause or a frontal adverb might be!
Then there is the competitive pressure from other parents, I never had or knew anyone that had a private tutor when I was at school. I was discussing this with a parent a little while ago, my concern was that using a tutor before an exam could result in an artificially higher result, placing the child in a higher academic group and then struggling to keep up in a class. The other parent had a different and interesting view that using a tutor was no different to preparing for a presentation.
In reality it is a long time since I have studied and the internet has opened up a new way to study with new rules. My own qualifications are badly in need of updating and I have recently started an HND course. I spent a great deal of time thinking about the best course; whether to study part time or full time and whether I should study at home or in a classroom. I hadn’t realised how much the internet would affect the way I write my assignments. I had never had to write citations before and had to spend nearly as much time reading how to correctly cite my work as I had researching the subject matter!
Again the internet is a great resource; not only is there endless research material, there is help available too. Assignment writing assistance can help provide all the material you need to write your assignment. There are websites to help correctly cite your work, or check for plagiarism.
Help is not purely limited to help with writing assignments only. There is also professional help available with topics, proposals, statistics, full dissertations, part of your dissertation and editing and proofreading. Ivory Research can provide a number of services to help you with your studies.
It has really been an eye opener how much the internet has changed the way we study; not only is there endless knowledge and information available, but also so much more assistance, research and checking tools. The pressure and expectations now means that work and assignments have to be 100% perfect and 100% error free. Can you learn this skill too soon?
