I have been a particularly lucky bunny this week.
The nice people from Thorntons asked me if I would like to review one of the Easter Eggs from this year’s collection.
I looked on the website and my eyes nearly popped! I love Thornton’s chocolate at the best of times – and some of these look really lush. I was having real trouble deciding. Eventually I whittled my selection down to just two – even that was hard, and told them to pick for me from among those two – and guess what they sent me both!!
If you would like to give somebody a special treat this Easter I can thoroughly recommend sending a Thornton’s Egg to them. Everything about the experience is special. I had forgotten the eggs were coming as I’ve been a bit busy this week, so I got the full benefit of surprise when the postman knocked on the door with a great big parcel all decorated with swirls – even the outer packaging looks lovely!
Right from the start I felt treated – this is just a lovely surprise to receive, especially when you are not expecting it!
And then when I opened it up – nestled inside in their papery nest were these two beauties.
So it wasn’t a secret admirer sending me flowers after all but very welcome nonetheless. I guess these probably won’t last as long as flowers do – so let’s take a look at them in all their glory while you still can.
Firstly the Chocolate Fudge Brownie Egg – dark chocolate with a decoration of white chocolate, nuts and brownies. Is that not the most gorgeous thing you have ever seen in your life?
Or if dark chocolate is not your thing then what about this raspberry one? Raspberry pieces and crumble just bursting to get out of the huge white chocolate egg. How long could you resist?
So know I’m in a bit of a quandary. Because in theory I have given up chocolate for Lent…
So tell me – does being forced to eat chocolate for work, for the sake of a thorough review, count as a good enough excuse to break a Lenten fast? My son reckons we are allowed to have treats on Sundays during Lent – so if you see me sneaking off to hide in a cupcoard on a Sunday then you will be able to guess what I am doing….
Or maybe the only way I can save my conscience is to give these eggs away to a lucky reader… Do you think you could help me on this?
Please enter the giveaway below and tweet about it to your friends. I will give one of the eggs away in time for Easter – or if I get over 700 entries I will give both of the eggs away… so please save me from my temptation.
