So we finally kicked off our year of being Merlin Annual Pass Ambassadors this weekend. I took my son off to Legoland – we picked up the annual passes for the whole family and ran off to enjoy the rides.
Everybody is well versed in the line that comes out of the fashion world. It’s too expensive to keep the manufacturing base in Britain. Bangladesh has been viewed as simply too cheap not to use. And yet, perhaps partly as a result of the awful tragedy in 2013 that saw over 1,000 people lose their lives in Bangladesh’s worst industrial accident which involved the collapse of a garment factory, the terrible conditions that often prevail in factories in Bangladesh has been brought into focus and led to a shift in perspective.
Mum’s the Boss is very pleased to offer one lucky family a short break at Sandhills Holiday Park in Mudeford, one of the loveliest holiday spots on the South Coast. Take a look at this video to see what Sandhills has to offer.

After a tumultuous eighteen months when my world fell apart – I am back. I have officially drawn an end to my grief, booked myself a summer holiday and I am back on the health and fitness trail.
Notice I did not say I am going on a diet – I am certainly not – I will never diet again. But what I have done is dusted off my trusty collection of Slimpods, set myself some new weight loss and fitness goals and started listening again. I’m also going to be using the Slimpod Ribbon test to see how healthy I am
Some people find it hard to imagine what exactly Twitter is, how it can work and what exactly you should do there. Social networking is a very new, and to some a totally alien concept. So let’s try to imagine what it would mean in the real world (twitter analogies are in brackets).
Going on maternity leave presents women with a break from their regular career, but for many it also means a substantial drop in income. While nobody would call this extra time “free time” to relax, you may find yourself with a few opportunities to take some time for yourself and maybe earn some extra money.
For those who are returning to a job who after a set amount of maternity leave there are rules and regulations to abide by regarding making money while on leave. Become familiar with these first and check with your company before starting with one of these ideas.
1. Create Crafts
Those good with their hands can use time while pregnant or when your new-born is asleep to start making some sort of crafts. Whether it’s knitting items of clothing, creating decorative items or another idea, these can be done sat down without using up too much energy. This could form the basis of a relaxing new hobby or you could sell your items online.
Many of my mum friends have commented and blogged about how childhood passes so quickly and you hardly notice how one phase blends into another. You have a baby and next thing you know they are off to school or university or whatever….. But these last few weeks have felt like a bit of a seismic shift for me – the converging of a few little events which means for me that things will never be the same again.
