So we finally kicked off our year of being Merlin Annual Pass Ambassadors this weekend. I took my son off to Legoland – we picked up the annual passes for the whole family and ran off to enjoy the rides.

Merlin Annual Pass

Sadly the Great British weather intervened – it isn’t really supposed to hail and snow in April, but we got truly blessed. It made the queues a bit shorter and the water rides a bit less scary as we were wet already, but at the end of the day we were out of the park and heading home again two hours after arriving.

Merlin Annual Pass

And that, my friends is the joy of the Merlin Annual Pass.  if you live anywhere near any of the 32 Merlin attractions in the UK, you can visit them as often as you like.  You can pop in at opening time, do the rides you like before it gets busy, and head home for lunch before the rest of the crowds get there. If you do stay for lunch you can have discounts in some of the eating facilities and there are other benefits too – take a look at the website for more details

We are lucky to live right next door to Thorpe Park, and with the Merlin passes I can take the children there for a one or two ride frenzy after school.  We will certainly be getting our money’s worth this year.

Later on in the year I am planning some trips to London.  We love the London Eye, Sea Life  and Madame Tussauds but have yet to see the London Dungeon or the new Shrek’s Adventure.  So we are certainly going to have some fun.

So now the part I really enjoy – I get to invite one lucky family to share the fun with me…
