These are the main types of ways you can advertise:

Products for Competition and Review

I accept products and services for review and giveaways – as long as they are relevant to mums and freely available to purchase in the UK. I advertise my giveaways widely in the UK – entrants are encouraged to follow the company on social media and to share a marketing message – it’s a great way to get your product seen by more people

Here are some examples of review posts that I have done recently:

Write for Mum’s the Boss – Guest posting

Mum’s the Boss is aimed at mums who are running small businesses from home, in addition to the normal parenting stuff. I cover business tips, but also parenting, self-care and productivity and organisation tips.

I’m looking for guest bloggers who personify my niche, or who have something relevant to say to stay at home mums, and who can provide well-written and unique perspectives to add to the blog. For me, a guest post is a post that does not include third-party links, only a link to the author’s individual blog or website. If you want to write a post with a link to a company that is not your own small business then please see Sponsored posts below.

Guest posting is a great way to connect with new readers and share your insights with them. You will also get a backlink to your blog (DA 38 at time of writing this) and your post will be shared across my social media networks.

The post you write should be informative and provide real support and advice to mums in business. We welcome guest posts, especially from parents in business, and would love to receive regular contributions from authors in different business disciplines.

Guest Post Guidelines

  • Posts must be high-quality, original content that has not been published elsewhere
  • The blog post should have at least 600 words with 1-2 links to your website and no external links.
  • How-to and list-style posts are especially welcome – please break your post up into sub-headings
  • Use keywords and long-tailed phrases throughout your post, especially in the Title, H1 and H2
  • Use a free site like Grammarly to spell check and review for grammar
  • Please include a 2-3 sentence author bio, a headshot and a link to your website, if applicable. You can also submit other relevant images if you have taken the photos yourself, but please no stock images.
  • No affiliate links to be added in the post unless you are giving me affiliate rights to a product or service on your website.

When your post is published on Mum’s the Boss, please feel free to share it on all your social media profiles. This will help to grow your brand, audience and traffic as well as your credibility in your niche. I will also promote your post on all my social media profiles.

Please DO NOT copy your blog post and publish it on your blog or another blog. You retain all the rights to your content, but if you publish your content elsewhere, I will remove it from Mum’s the Boss.

If you are interested in guest posting please drop an email to debbie (at) mumstheboss.co.uk – giving me an idea of what you would like to tell my readers about.

Sponsored posts

Sponsored posts are those which include links to third-party companies and larger organisations.  Mum’s the Boss accepts sponsored posts – we can either accept your text or write our own post based on your theme and keyword links.

All posts containing links other than to the author’s own company are payable. Please enquire at info@mumstheboss.co.uk to receive the latest rates for sponsored posts.

Sponsored posts must be high quality, written in good English and provide real advice that would be relevant and useful to somebody who is running a business from home in the UK. The blog post should sound as if I, a mum based in the UK have written it – please read through my blog to get an idea of my style and the topics I tend to cover. I reserve the right to refuse content that does not fit my niche, even after agreeing on a price.

The company promoted must trade in the UK and have products or services that are relevant to stay-at-home mums. I do not cover gambling, dating or similar adult topics.

ALL SPONSORED POSTS WILL BE LABELLED AS SUCH IN ACCORDANCE WITH UK ADVERTISING STANDARDS AGENCY GUIDELINES.   I CAN ACCEPT VARIOUS METHODS OF DOING THIS, BUT I DO NOT USE THE TERM GUEST POST IN CONJUNCTION WITH A SPONSORED POST.
