Do you know how to use AI in your blog? Should it even be there at all? In my opinion, it depends on what you want to use it for.
Let’s start with a disclaimer – all the images in this blog are AI generated – but I imagine you probably guessed that. I wish I was able to draw like that, but sadly my talents lie elsewhere!
Blogging is a fantastic way to be creative, share your passions, connect with others, and even earn a bit of extra money if you want to. But let’s be real – as many new bloggers have found, it can be a lot to manage. From choosing your niche to planning content, writing posts, promoting on social media, and even creating products to sell, the to-do list can feel never-ending.
Many bloggers are scared or put off by the ever-increasing (potentially threatening) presence of AI on the internet. Some of them believe that AI is not welcome in a blog – that a blog should be entirely the work of its human writer, otherwise, what is the point of it?
I completely understand and respect that opinion, but I see things differently. I believe that a blog can still be very much your own creation, and have your personality scattered liberally throughout it, and be entertaining and informative to your readers, but that you can save a lot of time and effort by using AI in certain areas of your blog planning, creating and promotion processes.
Over the last year, I have been slowly experimenting with AI, and have found ways to use it which I believe have enhanced the posts that I am producing, but for the most part, maintaining the essence of Debbie and Mum’s the Boss within.
AI tools, like ChatGPT and the Mystical Marketing Goddess Bot Bundle that I am promoting below, can make things a lot easier for bloggers by saving you time, sparking ideas, and helping with the more tedious bits of blogging.
But here’s the thing: AI is a helper, not a replacement for you. Your blog will always be special because of your voice, your personality, and your unique perspective. AI can’t replicate that, but it can give you a helping hand with the heavy lifting so you can focus on the parts you love and being your magical self.
Here are some ways in which AI can help you with blogging—from finding your niche to creating digital products—and why it’s so important to strike the right balance between automation and authenticity.

ChatGPT Can Work Like a Blogging Buddy
Think of ChatGPT as your virtual assistant who’s always on hand to ask you the right questions and guide you through every stage of blogging, allowing you to let your best self shine through. With a little pre-programming, it can act as a personalised blogging buddy, helping you with everything from brainstorming to crafting a sales page.
Let’s go through some ways it can help—and where your personal touch will still make all the difference.
1. Finding Your Blogging Niche
Choosing a niche is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make when starting a blog. You want to write about something you love, but it also needs to appeal to an audience if you want it to be successful.
How AI Helps: ChatGPT can ask you helpful questions like:
- What are you passionate about?
- What topics do people ask you for advice on?
- What do you know a lot about or want to learn more about?
It can then use your answers to suggest potential niches, and even give you insights into what’s trending or in demand. For example, if you’re into parenting and digital marketing, it might help you uncover a niche like “helping mums grow their small businesses online.” It can also help you to express that niche concisely in a “niche statement” which could be used on your social media platforms.
Why Your Voice Matters: While AI can help you find an audience-friendly niche, only you can decide what you’re genuinely passionate and excited to write about. Choose something that lights you up—you’ll thank yourself later!
2. Planning Your Blog Content
Once you’ve got your niche, the next step is to plan your content. A good plan helps you stay organised and consistent, which is key to growing your blog.
How AI Helps: ChatGPT can help you brainstorm post ideas, come up with categories for your blog, and even create a content calendar. It might ask you questions like:
- What topics would your readers find helpful?
- How often do you want to publish new posts?
- Do you want to mix longer articles with quick tips or lists?
It can then suggest post ideas, map out a schedule, and help you prioritise your content based on your goals.
Why Your Voice Matters: AI can generate all sorts of ideas, but you’ll want to choose topics that feel relevant to your audience and put your own spin on them. For example, if you’re writing about small business tips for mums, you might want to include your own stories or lessons you’ve learned along the way.

3. Writing Blog Posts
Writing is where AI really shines. It can speed things up and help you get past writer’s block, but it’s also the part of blogging where your unique voice matters the most.
How AI Helps: ChatGPT can:
- Create an outline for your post.
- Suggest catchy headlines.
- Flesh out tricky sections or draft a first version of your post.
For instance, if you’re writing about “How to Start a Home Business,” ChatGPT might suggest headings like:
- Why Start a Business from Home?
- Types of Home Businesses You Can Try
- The Tools and Skills You’ll Need
Why Your Voice Matters: AI can give you a starting point, but your readers want you. Add personal anecdotes, use your natural tone, and make sure your personality shines through. It’s your stories and advice that will keep people coming back to your blog.
4. Writing Social Media Content
Promoting your blog on social media is essential, but it can be time-consuming to write all those captions and posts.
How AI Helps: ChatGPT can help by helping to choose your ideal platforms to reach your target audience, and then proposing post relevant to each platform in order to promote your blog posts. It will remind you to use hooks, hashtags and calls to action as appropriate for each platform, and even recommend the best times to post.
Why Your Voice Matters: Social media is where people really get to know you, so let your personality shine. AI can give you a polished draft, but make sure to add your own flair—whether it’s a cheeky joke, a personal insight, or a question to spark engagement.
Also AI cannot do the part of social media that is arguably the most important – answering any comments you receive and engaging with other people’s content. By allowing some automation into the posts that you are producing, you will have more time on social media to do the things that really make a difference.

5. Creating Digital Products and Sales Pages
If you’re thinking of monetising your blog, digital products are a brilliant option. AI can help make the process a lot smoother.
How AI Helps:
Brainstorming Ideas: ChatGPT might ask questions like:
- What’s a common problem your readers face?
- What kind of product could help solve it (e.g., eBooks, templates, online courses)?
Design and Copy: Once you’ve decided on a product, AI can help you outline it, help you write the content, and even create persuasive sales pages with engaging headlines and calls to action.
Why Your Voice Matters: While AI can create a solid draft, your readers are buying from you. Make sure your product feels personal, reflects your expertise, and includes your insights. Your sales page should speak to your audience’s struggles in a way that only you can.
6. Email Marketing
Building an email list is one of the best ways to connect with your audience and promote your blog or products.
How AI Helps: ChatGPT can help you create email sequences by asking:
- What’s the purpose of this email (e.g., welcome series, product launch)?
- What’s the key message?
- How do you want readers to feel or act after reading it?
It can then draft emails that are engaging, professional, and tailored to your audience. Chat GPT can also help you to create lead magnets that will attract your ideal customer and encourage them to lookat your paid offerings.
Why Your Voice Matters: Email marketing is personal, so make sure your emails sound like they’re coming from you. Share stories, use your natural tone, and write as if you’re chatting with a friend.

The Key to Success: Balance AI with Your Personality
AI is a fantastic tool for saving time, staying organised, and getting over creative hurdles. But remember: your readers come to your blog because they connect with you. AI can help with the structure and heavy lifting, but it’s your personality, your stories, and your unique perspective that make your blog special.
By striking the right balance, you can use AI to work smarter, not harder, while still creating content that feels authentic and relatable. It’s like having a blogging buddy to handle the boring bits so you can focus on the fun stuff!
So go ahead, give AI a try, and watch your blogging journey become more efficient—and more enjoyable. Just don’t forget to let your personality shine through every step of the way!

The Mystical Marketing Goddess Bot Bundle

The Mystical Marketing Goddess Bot Bundle has been put together by my very talented friend Ang Bullock. She has designed a series of ChatGPT bots, that walk you through all the stages of setting up a website to market and sell digital products. This product is targeted at female business owners (hence the title), and I will admit that I have used quite a few of these bots and have found them very helpful, especially for helping me with all the bits I tend to procrastinate, like my About Me page, which always makes me cringe!
The bundle includes a blogging section and it is perfect for new bloggers who are just finding thier feet. It will help you with all the areas I mentioned above and more, and Ang also runs a very supportive Facebook group where she takes you through how to use the bots to get the best balance between AI content and your authentic voice.
Click the link above and check out the sales page – I won’t replicate it all here as it is far too long and detailed for the end of a blog post – but if you want to find out more what AI can do for you, then Ang is definitely your girlie!

Thank you for writing this and emphasizing the importance of a writer’s own voice!! I read a lot of th8ngs (blog posts, students essays) where I can tell AI wrote at least parts of the text, as it just doesn’t sound like them ir the tone changes partway through! I might send them your article in future 😆
Thank you for your comment Clare, and I do think it’s scary how young students think it is OK to use AI to write an essay.
As a blogger, I am trying to keep as much “me” as I can in each of my posts, but I must admit it is much easier to start each post from an AI-drafted framework, which links to a planned SEO strategy, rather than a blank screen.
