If you want to really engage with your audience, it pays to invest in some sort of live feed outreach. You need to be able to connect with them in real-time to ensure they know you’re legitimate.

If you follow other successful one-person businesses (and there are a lot of them about) you probably tune into podcasts, Facebook Lives, and all sorts of other ways of producing live feed. The successful gurus seem to have it all under control, but it’s not as easy as they make it look.

So how are you supposed to do this effectively? What takes a regular live feed from “meh” to outstanding, and has people clamouring for what you are offering?

Going Live When Your Audience Is Available

One of the first things you’ll want to do is go live when your audience is available. You should be using platform analytics to determine when they’re online and ready to receive your information.

This timing will depend on your industry. Sometimes, it’s hard to find anyone who’s interested in what you’re doing. But if there is an audience for your content, they usually have a specific demographic that’s more available at some times of the week than others.

One of my favourite live streamers is Australiian but she has a huge following in the UK and also in the USA, so she does several streams a week, each one tailored to fit with the best time for one of her fanbase areas.

Create Eye-Catching Designs

You also want to create eye-catching designs for your thumbnail and video title. Treat it with the same degree of care and attention as your non-live content. The quality of your thumbnail will determine who talks to you, if anyone.

Just make sure your designs are built around driving views and sales. Try to steer clear of focusing solely on vanity metrics. That’s unlikely to get you very far.

Use Proper Equipment

It should go without saying that it’s also imperative to use the right equipment. Too many brands think they can save money by going for the cheap option. But then their videos lack clarity and don’t provide the quality their audience craves.

Therefore, make sure you have proper cameras and tripods. Check your lighting and if you’re out in the middle of nowhere, use a high-quality video transmitter to ensure the message gets out.

Tease The Live Experience In Advance

You also want to get into the habit of teasing the live experience in advance. Posting countdowns on all your social media channels can drive a lot of interest very quickly and pull people in.

Also, teasing the live experience gives you a chance to master it. Most audiences are more about how they feel after an interaction rather than the actual content.

Bring In A Moderator

If you’re creating live content, it’s almost impossible to moderate at the same time, so bringing in someone outside to do this properly can  also help with your live streams. It reduces your tendency to pause all the time.

If you don’t want to do this yourself, then choose someone you know or who’s associated with your business. Usually, you can gather a handful of individuals who really care about your business and future operations.

Start Strong

Finally when going live, don’t forget to start strong. Begin the first 10 seconds by adding some value to your audience and encouraging them, to take part in what you’re doing. Try to get them to invest in some way that makes them feel special or adds a lot of value to their world to see how they react.
